I had a lovely pair of Gripp Jeans that I bought way before we moved to London. I wore it everywhere cause they were so super comfortable - the softest feeling denim jeans ever. Ofcourse they came with me to London, and travelled much of Europe too, but it wasn't long before the dreaded Heathrow Injection got me, and got me bad, as a result I sadly packed my comfy gripp jeans away.
Over the years I got them out and hoped they would fit me again, and was bitterly disappointed as I barely squeezed my thighs into them let alone get anywhere near buttoning them up. They went into the donation bag many many times but were always pulled out last minute and stored back in the wardrobe in the hope that one day, just one day I might be able to get back into them.
I can't believe they even made the trip back home to Sydney where luggage space was at a premium what with everything we accumulated while living overseas. I had forgotten about them though and only stumbled across them as I was switching over my winter wardrobe to my summer wardrobe and pulled out my boxes or stored clothes.
I saw them, and thought, why not give them another try - i've been doing this breastfeeding business which seems to have helped me lose my pregnancy weight (yes when i got preggers my thighs started chaffing!) - if I was going to fit into them again at any time ever, now would be the time. I slowly put one leg through and then the other and hooray my thighs slid into them without any struggle - I could feel my excitement building up but didn't want to jinx it (i'm a major jinx these days) so tried to be all cool, calm and collected (to myself!) but when it came to doing up the button and I wasn't huffing and puffing and sucking in my tum tum I really couldn't contain my excitement and started doing major happy dance infront of the mirror and running out of our room to the kitchen to show husby! He didn't seem to share my excitement though (wonder why?)
Anyhoo, after that day I wore them for about 4 days straight and kept telling everyone I saw how I fit back into them - I prob would have worn them for more days except Ella chucked a spat one day at lunch and food went a flying so into the washing machine it went and unfortunately with this yukky weather I haven't been able to do a load of wahing for ages so i'll just have to wait till it's sunny before I can get them out and enjoy them again.
Ahhh, that's me below when we just moved to London in 2005 in my lovely jeans :) Gosh 5 years on and my face has really aged - more dry and wrinkly.
