Burda 9645 - Top & Pants
I have been on another long break from blogging - mostly cause i've been too tired due to lack of sleep. It seems just when I think Ella's got the hang of of this thing called sleep it goes topsy turvey all over again!!!
But I had a little bit of time today to take some piccies of these two items I made for Ella from Burda 9645 pattern. I'm really happy with how the top turned out - I love the fabric (Tanya Whelans Dolce line) and the pretty lace around the edges. I'm glad this top didn't require button hole making as I still haven't figured how to do them yet.
Again it's a size 18mths. Too big for Ella at the moment, but i think we could get away it as a dress for now until she can grow into for a top - just a few more months I think!
I made these pants from the same pattern. It's baggy style jeans. I got some denim though it is nice and soft for little Ellas chubber legs. This one did require me to make a button hole on the pockets but I chickened out after my failed attempts on some scrap fabric - prob because i didn't really know what I was doing and randomly trying out the various buttons on my machine. I think I should google this and find a proper tutorial next time. This time I opted for velcro and sewed on some buttons on top. I figure Ellas fingers aren't going to be nimble enough to work out how to do buttons - velcro is much much easier!
I hope when the time comes these clothes actually fit her ok! Otherwise they will just stay on display I guess!!

When you figured out how to do buttonholes let me know. I like velcro too for closures cos it's much easier for the little ones to do it themselves. What a sweet set, I bet she'll look cute in them.
