Gorgeous Kimono Top

My friend sent me the link to these super cute litte pinafore wrap dresses that are sold by an etsy seller Maluhia.  They are so cute esp the fabrics!  I have a pattern I bought previously for a little kimon cardigan which I thought could be altered to make it dress like, but as i've never altered a pattern before thought i'd do a little google search (I love google!) for Kimono style tutorials out there.  I came across this one from 'Habitual's' blog.  Her photos and fabric choices made me want to make a little Kimono wrap so badly :)

I emailed her and she was so lovely to pass across a copy of her pattern and instructions so I could give it ago and make one for Ella - THANK YOU again!

I used this lovely Jennifer Pagenelli fabric for the kimono and couldn't be happier with the outcome!  This is a size 12 months so a little big for Ella now, but I think she could still wear it now and grow into it.  No piccies of Ella in it again - it's too much trouble getting her in and out of her 4-5 layers for winter clothes for a photo shoot - esp when she loathes getting changed (she hates putting her arms into anything!).  So will just take a snap of her when she wears this out.  I can't wait for warmer weather here - it'll make putting clothes on Ella much easier - just one layer to get on and off rather than 5!

Yes, love the fabric choice. I used her pattern to make my first ever clothing item - pillowcase dress. Did bookmark the kimono top but never made it. Good job on it. Your sewing is going great guns.
